she/her
A Guernsey-born composer based in Guernsey/London. Emily is a singer and flautist interested in folk and contemporary music. She is currently studying for her doctorate at Newcastle University, researching Guernsey's cultural heritage through creative practice. Emily has previously studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and The University of York. Her work combines tradition, artefacts, comedy through her creative practice. Emily likes to feature improvisatory elements within her work that create space for the players to explore. She wishes to continue developing forms in her works by manipulating, abstracting, and distorting folk elements. In 2025, Emily has been selected for the Guernsey Arts artist residency between Puglia and The Channel Islands.
